Alpha is an opportunity to meet, listen, discuss, challenge, question, work it out with lovely friends & neighbours. You have a great meal together, watch a video, tea & coffee & an open discussion. About 10 Wednesday evenings of your life. To discover if it is boring irrelevant untrue, or? Alpha 10th Sept Village Hall Back Text Box: Jesus is wonderful, awesome & alive today. He has done many amazing things in my life. He is truly marvellous! He’s my best friend & He loves me, even me. Scary isn’t it! One day I’ll be with Him for ever more in a place He called Paradise. An ex-atheist. Wow! Is this consistent with what you’ve heard about Jesus & his Father? He said He would build His Church. Not a building, but a body of people who love him, & each other & are called according to His purposes! These people are on fire with life, love, joy, peace & expectation. They are Church. They are not an ailing, grumbling, depressive, down beat institution! They’re thriving and rejoicing in Jesus! Text Box: If you have taken a middle of the road view of Church and God, at Alpha you can re-examine your views. e.g.Have you rejected God because of what you have seen or heard of the Church? Be honest? Do you think the Church has fairly represented Father God and His Son Jesus to us? I can only speak from my own experience. As a child I had ‘experienced’ church. In my teens I walked! By 22 I was a ‘confirmed’ atheist. Until…... At 47 (by accident), I heard a very different message about Jesus from people who really believed in him. Jesus, not church changed my life! I go to some Churches & wonder where is the life, love and joy?
