JUST A THOUGHT

Speakers List for the Second Quarter of 2003.

From the 2nd to the 5th of April they will be performing their version of…..

‘Allo ‘Allo

A must be there event! Further details to follow. Initial reports are it was another smash hit and a sell out from day one! What a privilege to have such talent in the village.

Come on and Celebrate. Easter Sunday morning is the celebration of the day that Jesus came back to life and rose from the dead to live forever more. He was Gods example to us, that if we put our trust and life in Jesus’ hands, as Jesus put his life and trust in the hands of his Father in heaven when he went to the cross to conquer sin and death, we can be sure of that resurrection life in a place called paradise! That’s a real reason to celebrate isn’t it?. We will be telling the story of Easter for the children, singing some old and some new Easter songs. 10:30 til 11:30 Sunday morning the 20th April. Have a look at the poster or print on off on your PC Easter Come on and Celebrate

Mary used to work in Eritrea and is responding to the famine conditions in that land. She is planning a fund raising event. There is currently a cessation of fighting in Eritrea following a 30 yearlong war. Plus there has been no rain for six years! Do support this event if you are able. The Chapel car park is available for use as there are on spaces for four cars on Mary’s drive.

Follow-up report. My wife Sue spoke to Mary who sounded delighted with the response from the village to her appeal. Bless you Mary for your faithfulness. We pray that God will take this gift for the people of Eritrea and exercise His amazing powers to ‘multiply’ the effects of the money given.

Tom Smith was the Minister of Bridgnorth Baptist Church in the late 80’s and early 90’s. He has been pasturing several churches in the south and now has a new focus for his ministry. He has been appointed as an itinerant minister to rural churches. Hence Tom’s visit to us our area. He will be ministering at BBC on the Sunday evening of the 27th April concerning this new ministry. We would encourage all our Chorley regulars to visit BBC on the Sunday evening for this message. There will not be a meeting at Chorley that night. We believe this is an important and timely message for us Chorley and and other folk in the villages to hear.  Have a look at the leaflet at Tom Smith 27th and 28th and Lifting Jesus Higher 29th

Tom will be visiting us at Chorley on the Monday evening following. All would be welcome. Bring your friends. He is proposing an evening of Testimony and Song mixed with some teaching and guidance for rural Churches. I have a special place in my heart for Tom as he was ‘that special minister’ who resided over the Church I was attending when I came to know the Lord Jesus as my personal saviour. So it’s with great joy I can welcome Tom some 12 years later to visit the Church my wife Sue and I have been asked to lead. What a privilege.

Follow-up Report. At Chorley on the 28th. Praise God from whom ALL BLESSINGS FLOW. The Church was full. Tom’s testimony was great. The praise songs and worship offerings we such much enjoyed with amazing songs of love and appreciation of Jesus. Even the Louise Armstrong classic, “What a wonderful world.” as the opening song. Tom brought us some strong challenges about the centrality of the Gospel in our work and lives (….the power of God for the Salvation of everyone who believes. Rom 1 v 16). Also the error of an ‘over emphasis’ on the Gifts of the Spirit without the centrality of the Gospel! After all that is what we are commissioned do in the great commission in Matthew 28 v 19:20. Tom also reminded us that God so loved the ‘world’, (the whole world,) that he sent his only Son (to the world) that whoever believes on Him might be saved, and that we are part of a “World Church” and even little old Chorley ought to be seeing ourselves and working as a World Church organisation and doing our part for those in other places who need to know the Love of God and the Power of His Gospel unto Salvation.

Lifting Jesus Higher, a group formed to promote unity in our belief and Faith in Jesus across the Churches by building relationship, trust and love between members of different fellowships, denominations, communities and Church leaders in the Bridgnorth area. All that is required is a heart to see Jesus Lifted Higher in all we do in our communities and in our hearts. The LJH team will be visiting us on the 29th of April to focus our thinking and prayer on the community of Chorley. Chorley Chapel and Jubilee Ministries will be taking part. Meeting at Chorley Chapel at 7:30pm. People from other Bridgnorth and the communities in the surrounding area will be coming over to pray with us and for us as a Church, in the village and community. To encourage us, and worship Jesus together here in at Chorley. Please Pray that God will open doors in Chorley for His Gospel and the message of His Salvation. Come Lord Jesus, Come, we pray? Without you we can do nothing. We need your Holy Spirit Power at continue ‘your’ work here in Chorley, in each one of us at the Chapel and in the hearts of every person in the area, please Lord Jesus Come? Amen. When the Holy Spirit came to the disciples at Pentecost, 3000 were added to their number that day! More of your Spirit poured out please Lord, more of your great Love revealed to us Lord, we pray.

Please note LJH will be visiting New Life Church Cleobury Mortimer on the 22nd May at 7:30PM we hope to be able to support them.

New Life Church Cleobury Mortimer are meeting at the Pioneer Centre under the leadership of Steve Robertshaw for a meeting of Worship Together. The Speaker in the International Evangelist George Miller of Reconciliation Ministries Inc. Meeting Starts at 7:30 until 8:30 approx and followed by tea, coffee, cookies and time to chat. Chorley folk will probably be at Chorley Chapel with the LJH team. We would however encourage you to investigate this meeting. We had a wonderful evening there in March. Please pray for this event. That those who attend will see with their eyes, hear with their ears and know in their hearts, that God loves them, every one, and wants then with him in his eternal paradise, for ever.

Call Steve on 01299 271217 for further details in necessary.

Why is it that in ‘God’ terms, we can relate to love in the context of a mans love of King or Queen and country, a deep but impersonal love, and yet ignore the far deeper and much more significant fact that God Loves us, you and me with a passion? He is NOT LUKE WARM about his LOVE of YOU! He is like a Father who loves his Children dearly (even unto death), or Bride who is enthralled, infatuated, head over heels in Love with her Bridegroom and all he stands for, adoring love, she only has eyes only for Him! Jesus. Such Love. I’ve never known a Love like this before. Have you? Do you really know how much God Loves YOU?
